宝贝

宝贝 词:黄拔萍 曲:林国煌
走在没有你世界里,像是迷失在旷野里;
东南西北没有方向,心里战兢很慌忙;
黑暗里摸索寻找着,像是瞎眼没办法;
你的话语却像甘密温暖在我心

不要害怕,我的孩子;
我的双手,永远守护你;
牵引你走,不至彷徨;
因你是我重价赎回的宝贝

我不害怕,我的阿爸父;
你的双手,安慰我心灵;
牵引我走,不至缺乏;
因我是你重价赎回的宝贝

A song called Caledonia from Celtic Woman

Caledonia (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For other songs known as "Caledonia", see "Jamie Raeburn", "Canada-I-O" and "Amy MacDonald".

For the jump blues song, see "Caldonia"

"Caledonia" (also known as "Jean and Caledonia") (Roud # 3801) is a Scottish folk ballad.
It first appeared in the song-book "Pocket Songster or Caledonian Warbler" in 1823. "Sair, sair was my heart, an' the tears stood in my een/As I viewed my native hills an' I thought upon my Jean." Pressed by poverty, the two sadly part; he promises to be true, and wed no other, and someday to come back to marry her.
"Caledonia" is also the name of a modern Scottish folk ballad, written by Dougie MacLean somewhere between 1974 and 1977[1] and published in 1979 on an album of the same name[2]. It has the lyrics "Caledonia, you're calling me, and now I'm going home". MacLean plays the song in the key of E using Open C tuning with a capo on the 4th fret, as can be seen in video recordings[3]. This version has been covered by artists including Frankie Miller and Fish. It is included in the 2007 album release by Celtic Woman, A New Journey, sung by Lisa Kelly.The song is also covered by the Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini on a special version of his album These Streets. The cover on this album is a live recording. Another cover was included as a hidden track on singer/songwriter Amy Macdonald's album 'This is the life'

Cross references
Compare with "Erin's Flowery Vale" also known as "The Irish Girl's Lament" or "Dobbin's Flowey Vale" (Roud 999, Laws O29) (plot) and references there

Caledonia lyrics:

I don't know if you can see
The changes that have come over me
In these last few days I've been afraid
That I might drift away
I've been telling old stories, singing songs
That make me think about where I've come from
That's the reason why I seem
So far away today

[Chorus:]
Let me tell you that I love you
That I think about you all the time
Caledonia, you're calling me, now I'm going home
But if I should become a stranger
Know that it would make me more than sad
Caledonia's been everything I've ever had

Now I have moved and I've kept on moving
Proved the points that I needed proving
Lost the friends that I needed losing
Found others on the way
I have kissed the fellas and left them crying
Stolen dreams, yes, there's no denying
I have traveled hard, sometimes with conscience flying
Somewhere with the wind

[Chorus]

Now I'm sitting here before the fire
The empty room, the forest choir
The flames have cooled, don't get any higher
They've withered, now they've gone
But I'm steady thinking, my way is clear
And I know what I will do tomorrow
When hands have shaken, the kisses float
Then I will disappear

[Chorus]

Caledonia's been everything I've ever had
Caledonia's been everything I've ever had
Caledonia's been everything I've ever had

How to Increase Your Vocal Range through Proper Vocal Exercises

Have you ever wondered how to increase your vocal range? Well, the answer is yes! You see, some people enjoy singing, but find it impossible to hit the high notes. If you are one of those people, you probably listen to professional singers and think that they are amazing and you will never be half as good at singing as they are, but, in reality, it is easy to improve your vocal range and sing like a pro, if you know where to begin.

Basically, to learn how to increase vocal range, you must learn the 2 muscle coordination’s that allow you to sing in your higher vocal registers. These registers are called:-
• Head voice
• Mixed voice

In order for you to be in that select group of people who can easily hit a higher vocal range, you need to learn which muscles control your higher vocal registers, known as head voice and mixed voice. Using your mixed voice properly is really the primary issue. Your mixed voice will allow you to sing higher notes, but with the richness and fullness you usually sing lower notes.

That means, essentially, that you will no longer sing in a falsetto or nasal sounding voice when you try to sing notes in a higher vocal range.If you’ve tried vocal range extension exercises in the past, only to get a sore throat and many wasted hours for your trouble, you may think vocal warm-ups are a waste of time. However, if you use the right vocal warm-ups and vocal training tips, you can be singing high notes easier in no time at all.

Once you understand some simple vocal warm-ups and vocal training tips, singing in your upper vocal registers will become so easy that it’s automatic. You’ll wonder why you were unable to do so before. Your vocal chords will easily adjust to allow you to continue singing higher notes.

The first step is to understand the science behind reaching the best possible vocal range. It is not as simple as some people have talent and others do not. While it may be true that some people take to singing a bit easier than others, anyone can sing better if they learn how to increase vocal range with the right exercise to the right muscle groups. Most people do not know that, so they continually have trouble hitting those elusive high notes when they sing.

So, as you can see, starting out with a good foundation of vocal warm-ups and vocal training tips is key to singing in a higher vocal range. Just remember, you need to find the vocal exercises that will help you to strengthen and control the proper muscles. So, learn the proper vocal exercises and sing as much as you want without worrying about damaging your vocal chords, losing your voice or hurting the ears of those around you by singing off key. Once you can control your larynx and vocal chords better, you can hit all those high notes and have learn all the theories on how to increase your vocal range easily!

Bohemian Rhapsody (Toilet Remix)

For my dear, dear toilet...

Bohemian Rhapsody (Toilet Remix)

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Trapped in a toilet
no escape from reality...

Open your eyes,
Look into the toilet bowl...

I'm just a piece of poop
I need no sympathy
because I'm easy come, easy go,
sometimes hard, sometimes soft...

Anywhere the poo goes,
doesn't really matter to me...

To me.......

Toilet, just KILLED a man,
It smells so HORRIBLE,
how unreasonable!!
Toilet, life has just begun,
but now I've gone excreting all away!!
Toilet, ooh
didn't mean to make you cry,
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow,
Carry on, carry on

As if nothing really matters

Too late, my poo has come
sends shivers down my spine,
body's aching all the time...
Goodbye, everybody
I've got to go...
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth...

Toilet! (ooh... anywhere the poo goes)
I'm constipated
I sometimes wished I've never been born at all!

I'm just a peice of poo,
nobody loves me

IT'S JUST A PEICE OF POO
NOBODY LOVES IT
SPARE IT ITS LIFE FROM ITS MONSTROSITY!!

Easy come, Easy go
Will you let me go?

BISMILLAH *UUURRRGGGHHH!!!*
I CANNOT LET YOU GO!!

Let me go!!

BISMILLAH *UUURRRGGGHHH!!!*
I CANNOT LET YOU GO!!

Let me go!!

CANNOT LET YOU GO!!

Let me go!!

CANNOT LET YOU GO!!

Let me go Oh OH OH...

*URGH* *URGH* *URGH* *URGH* *URGH* *URGH* *URGH*!!!

Oh Mamamia, MAMAMIA!!

MAMAMIA THIS ONE'S TOUGH!!!

BEELZEBUB HAS CONSTIPATION IN MIND FOR ME,
FOR ME, FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing really matters,
anyone can see
Nothing really matters...

And the toilet (and the toilet)
is TOR-TURE to MEEEE!!!!!

Anywhere the poo goes...

*UUURRRGGGHHH*!!!!

Help

I need some help in maintaining our choir's e-mail address...
it's:

methochoir@yahoo.com

Those willing to help me, please let me know. You job will include sending members an e-mail regarding the time of the next practice (though there won't be many from now onwards) and e-mail anything you find interesting.

Your help is much appreciated.

Another year

Another year has past, and so has another choir competition. Though we didn't do as well as last year, we're still very proud of ourselves. Not suggesting we were number one, but suggesting that everyone ought to too.

We were second only to KL (which was pretty much predicted)...
If anyone objected their winning, that person would have absolutely no sense of justice whatsoever. Their song "stand by me" was mesmerizing. Only one thing can be said: We have to work harder.

Who knows what we'll do next year? On top of the insane singing practices, will we have to attend extra dancing lessons to make our performance a Broadway musical? XD

That's entirely up to the teachers...

For pictures of the competition, please send your request to methochoir@yahoo.com

Finally, would like to thank all the choir members (of S'wak) for cooperating with each other, and a big well done to us all (that includes choir members all over M'sia... including Putrajaya... Great courage and spirit!)

We haven't failed, we have just discovered a thousand ways that don't work.

Thanks!

Rush Hour: an hour before the competition

Forgive him, he's still young.

Power of the Miri Choir.

Fun with the camera (some naughty cameramen later started filming... US!!!)

Stupidity in the Toilet: 4 basses and 1 baritone

Just for your information, the choir uniforms are the shiniest of the lot.

This is a guy. Seriously.

These are guys. Seriously.

Test Run

Hello to all Methodist Choir members, teachers, ex-choir members, choir members from other states, not forgetting all the ladies and gentlemen who view this blog.

I finally got this blog up and running! Though the Methodist Choir and blogging services were both set up at around the same time, I'm glad that the Methodist Choir FINALLY has their own blog.

Some of you may be asking: What exactly is the Methodist Choir?

The Methodist Choir is a choir group, composed of 35 (active) choir members, 4 (active) teachers and a vocalist. Well-known since their successes in the national level choir competition in Malaysia, bringing Sarawak the title of "champion" since 2005 (with an exception of 2006, where we were the 2nd runner -up). Have recently won in the State level (June 12th) and will be competing in the Nationals once again in Perak (June 26th).

We're a bunch of very happy people who are addicted to laughing, fun and anything related to that.

Here's to seeing you soon. Cheers!
